UPDF Recruitment Form 2024
The UPDF furthered recruited candidates into rank. However, following its overwhelming response to the SCIENTIST recruitment drive for 2024, the Defense Force of Uganda officially closed the submission of application.
UPDF official careers portal remains the well-known https://www.updf.go.ug/careers/, and interested candidates are advised to patiently wait for the next UPDF recruitment to apply.
UPDF Recruitment Procedures
1. Application Recommendation
Interested candidates who are to apply to join the regular force should get recommendations from LCI, LCII, LCIII, GISO and DISO.
2. Submission of Application
After gaining the demanded recommendations from LCI, LCII, LCIII, GISO and DISO, candidates are to submit their application forms to the office of RDC where they are registered and await collection by the UPDF collection teams that submit them to the office of Joint Staff Human Resource Management.
3. Shortlisting
The Office of Joint Staff Human Resource Management will process the list of suitably qualified (shortlisted) candidates and published/displayed on the District/City notice boards, informing the shortlisted applicants to present themselves at designated recruitment centres for assessment and intervies.
4. Recruitment
The recruitment is conducted using the projected population figures of each District/City of Uganda that forms the basis of recruitment quotas.
UPDF Recruitment Requirements 2024
Nationality: Ugandan
Minimum Age: 18
Mode of Identification: Original National Identity Card
- Applicant must possess formal education strictly of S.4 (UCE) who finished in the year 2020 – 2023 and must have passed English and Mathematics.
- Application letters of applicants must be duly signed by LC I, LC II and LC III chairpersons, GISO or DISO and RDC are a must.
- Applicants must be residents of the area, disciplined and with no criminal record.
- Applicants must be fit and ready to undergo medical and body fitness tests.

- Sign up or login if you have an already existing account.
- Navigate to the careers page
- Select the job category and position you are applying
- Fill the online application form
- Upload the required documents/credentials
- Review and submit the application form by clicking on the SUBMIT button
