Duties and Responsibilities for the Job Vacancy at KRCS

The jobholder of the above position, will oversee quite some tasks during his/her employment at the Kenya Red Cross Society (KRCS). Below are the duties and responsibilities for the job vacancy at KRCS:

  1. The jobholder must work towards achieving the American Red Cross goals (primary duties).
  2. The jobholder must review all payments made by the delegation and all reports from the various programs supported by the delegation, as well as reviewing the finance sections of funding proposals for the National Societies and other partners.
  3. The jobholder must monitor the budget of the delegation and ensure accurate accounting, authorization & internal control procedures. Investigate and address significant variances.
  4. The jobholder must train, support and advise delegates of KRCS.
  5. The jobholder must manage the funds and financial assets of the delegation, under the overall direction of the NHQ International Service Finance.
  6. The jobholder must coordinate the compilation of the delegation’s budget and financial plan, under the direction of the MR&P Field Representative and Finance Manager -NHQ, using budgets templates provided by American Red Cross.

Qualifications and Requirements for KRCS Recruitment 2024

Below lies all the requirements, including qualifications needed for the 2024 KRCS Recruitment:

  1. Candidates must have Basic Red Cross Training Courses or equivalent knowledge.
  2. Candidates must possess professional/academic qualification in finance or accounting: Bachelor Degree in Business Administration, Commerce or any other relevant field plus full professional accountancy qualification, CPA (K), ACCA, etc and knowledge of accounting software. A post graduate qualification is and added advantage.
  3. Candidates must have an experience of managing & supporting staff.
  4. Candidates must have an experience of working for the Red Cross/Red Crescent.
  5. Candidates must have an experience of working for a humanitarian aid organization in a developing country.
  6. Candidates must have a 3 years professional work experience in financial management and reporting, audits, budgeting, and accounting.
  7. Candidates must have an experience of preparing budgets, cash flow statements & financial plans.
  8. Candidates must have an experience of working with various accounting systems such as QuickBooks, Navision, CODA.
  9. Candidates must have an experience of writing narrative & financial reports.
